The joy of being carefree

So I met this person in Chiang Mai. Young lady, possibly in her twenties. She was trying to duck down lest she get drenched by the ice water buckets during the Songkran new year festival.

I asked her where she was from and she said Chiang Mai. Found it rather surprising as she clearly looked American. Puzzled, I asked her what she did. And she replied that she was a teacher.

What do you teach?

I teach English to primary school kids

 How many kids are there in your class?

13

 That must be quite a job. Handling 13 kids

Oh. That's nothing. I love my job

 So, why Chiang Mai? Why did you have yo teach kids here?

Well, I have never stayed away from home. I always wanted to go spend some time in a quiet place. Bangkok was too crowded and I heard Chiang Mai was a smaller town, less crossed and suited me. And that's it- I am here!

 So, didn't your family object? Don't you miss them?

Well, they want me back in Boston. But I am pushing my luck. Once I start missing them, I will think about going back

 Made me wonder. She was someone who was simply having fun, carefree and so contented. Although we may not be able to do exactly as she pleased, are there some things that we could possibly change?

Though I would never want to be in the hot seat, it is interesting to watch someone else on the seat. Not that I really enjoy them struggling to answer some particularly embarassing questions, but it does give an insight on how people handle themselves and their emotions well. Worrying to relax

It turns out that I am secretly a hyperactive movie director- someone who wants to create action unnecessarily and largely relying on fiction. You must be wondering what I am up to. Well, turns out that I get tensed too easily. Will I miss the train to Chiang Mai? I should have just booked a flight which would have been so easy- take a cab to airport, see the flight info on the display boards and that's it. But instead, I wanted to experience a train journey!.  I started for Hua Lamphong railway station at Bangkok at 5pm. The time to station from my hotel was 15 minutes. My train was scheduled to leave at 645 PM. And yet, I am thinking- Will there be a traffic jam and I reach the station late? What if I am not able to locate the booking agency on time- only when I collect the train ticket from them, can I board the train.
